Drenched

(edited)

Engulfed in flames,
a vessel of blackened bones,
charcoaled fibres of my flesh scream aloud.
You came,
torrential downpour,
a gracious revival,
 beating at the chest,
of my blackened corpse.

Black calla lily lay dormant in drenched ashes.
May thy remains be
the tender womb
for my own funeral flowers.
